CHHANDAKOTSAVについて
CHHANDAK KALA ACADEMY a premier Odissi Dance Academy of Madhya Pradesh situated at Indore has carved a space for itself through its ceaseless efforts in evolving into a treasure house of dance learning.
At a time when Chhandak was initiated in Indore, the inhabitants of the city were not much sentient to the existence of such a graceful & elegant dance form in the age old Indian culture. Thus, the journey wasn’t a cakewalk but demanded relentless struggle to take it to the stature where Chhandak stands today. From organizing intensive workshops to training students to the best of their abilities, Dalia has never left a single stone unturned for realizing her dream of ‘making Odissi a way of life through Chhandak.’
For the past few years we have been organizing a Dance Festival namely “CHHANDAKOTSAV” in the month of July, to promote our rich cultural heritage. For the same we invite internationally renowned dancers to perform at the occasion, along with the Artists of CHHANDAK in order to attract the young generation and to promote Odissi in Central India.
We have started “Chhandakotsav” in the year 2004.
Dr. Ruma Nath (Disciple of Guru Pousali Mukherjee) from Kolkata came with her group Pallavi Nritangan to perform in Our festival.

Kakoli Mukherjee (Disciple of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatr )from Kolkata came with her group to perform in our festival.
Chhandakotsav 2006
Guru Ratikanta Mahapatra son of Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra from Bhubaneswar came with his group Srijan.
Chhandakotsav 2007
Sharmila Biswas of Kolkata the Senior Disciple of Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra came with her group Odissi Vision & Movement Centre.

Padmashree Madhvi Mudgal from Delhi Came with her group.

Aloka Kanungo from Kolkata the senior disciple of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatracame with her group.
Chhandakotsav 2010
From this year we have started two days festival. First day Padmashree Guru Gangadhar Pradhan From Konark came with his group Konark Natya Mandap and Second day Surupa sen & Vijayani Satpathi from Bangalore came with their group Nrityagram.
Chhandakotsav 2011
From this year we have started a 3 days festival. First day it was arranged at Ujjain. Taisia Spoulnikova from Russia & Artists of Rudhaksh Foundation Bhubaneswar performed with the Artists of Chhandak there. Second day it was arranged in Indore and Ramli Ibrahim from Malaysia performed with her team Sutra Dance Theatre. Chhandak also presented a group performance of Odissi Dance.
Third day again it was arranged in Indore and Guru Durga Charan Ranvir from Bhubaneswar performed with his Group. Taisia Spulnikova from Russia performed solo Odissi Dance.
Chhandakotsav 2012
It was a three day long Festival. Scheduled on 6th, 7th, & 8th of July. First day it was organized at Rabindra Bhawan Bhopal. Chhandak performed group Odissi, Shridevi Nrityalaya from Bangalore performed group Bharatnatyam, and Rudraksh a group from Bhubaneswar, Orissa performed Duet Odissi Dance.
Second day it was organized in University Auditorium, Khandawa Road, Indore. Chhandak presented group Odissi Dance, Shridevi Nrityalaya from Bangalore performed group Bharatnatyam and Rudraksh from Bhubaneswar performed group Odissi.
Third day Venue was same. Chhandak presented group Odissi, Sujata Mohapatra from Bhubaneswar presented solo Odissi and Upasana Centre for Dance from Kolkata presented group Kathak Dance.
Chhandakotsav 2013
It was also a three day long Festival. First day it was organized in Shankul Auditorium at Kalidas Academy, Ujjain. Chhandak performed group Odissi Dance, Rukmini Vijaykumar from Bangalore performed solo Bharatnatyam and Articulate Ability ( A group of Visually Challanged Artists) from Karnataka presented group Bharatnatyam.
Second Day Chhandak presented group Odissi Dance, Articulate Ability performed Bharatnatyam and Ranan from Kolkata presented group Kathak Dance.
Third day chhandak presented a dance combination of Marg Nritya and Odissi, Rukmini Vijaykumar and Orissa Dance Academy from Orissa presented group Odissi Dance.
